I translate from German into my mother tongue English. My specialisms are politics and government, medical and pharmaceutical, as well as marketing and PR.

My translations are accurate, succint and, above all, they read as if they were an original/untranslated text. My academic proofreading services can entail a ‘light’ version with a focus on punctuation and spelling, or a more in-depth version to re-formulate or even re-write your copy. My experience in academic proofreading ranges from texts on scientific themes, higher education, demographics and renewable energies, to name just a few. I proofread academic texts on a monthly basis for doctoral students and post-doctoral students at the ifo Institut München and this is a vital service to support their research.

SPEECH-TO-TEXT INTERPRETING

Do you require a speech-to-text interpreter? In July 2024 I was awarded with a state-recognised certification as a speech-to-text interpreter and captioner at SDI München. This qualification and my experience qualifies me to provide support (in the form of touch typing and using captioning software) for people who are hard-of-hearing. The speech-to-text interpreting service is now fully financed by the state for the public sector and is vital for people who use the spoken language, such as cochlea implant users, but who have problems understanding everything. Scenarios when this can be used are: doctor’s appointments, live events of all kinds, work meetings, interviews etc.
