Government and
political journalism
I’ve spent a decade translating on behalf of political foundations and other government bodies in Germany, ranging from the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Jewish Claims Conference to the Statistisches Bundesamt.
My two book translations into English with the titles ‘We Are All Part of Europe’ and ‘Female Diplomacy’ – the latter was on behalf of the CDU political party and was launched at the KAS headquarters in New York – also make me an expert in this niche field of translation.
It has endowed me with the necessary knowledge along with a fluency in political and government language that shines through every text.
Academia and Research
Academic texts of all kinds: for higher education institutions, historical associations, museums, and many more, have become a hallmark of my work. I like nothing more than to delve deep into a translation on any of these themes, and history (both ancient and modern) has become one of my passions outside the office.
This is why an array of museums, historical associations, universities and the corporate world place their faith in me.
Medical and Pharmaceutical
The translation of texts for the medical and pharmaceutical sector presents a unique set of challenges. A professional medical translation requires a high degree of cultural sensitivity, knowledge in the field and an affinity with the terminology and sources of research. Medical settings leave NO room for error, whether that be dosages for medicine, pharmacological or general medical abbreviations, instructions prior to or post surgery or details regarding the diagnosis and further treatment.
As a longstanding medical translator and interpreter, I bridge language and cultural gaps between patients and healthcare providers.
When translating using Trados Studio 2024, I add my own extensive glossary of medical terminology to all my medical translations, so as to ensure consistency and accuracy as well as conducting (thorough) research at all times.
